My entry into senior care was born from a personal crisis I will never forget. During my grandmother’s final months in El Paso, my family was thrust into a fragmented, exhausting system. We lived through the soul-crushing reality of a revolving door of caregivers—facing unfamiliar faces nearly every shift. This inconsistency wasn't just stressful; it was dangerous. It led to critical gaps in her treatment and repeated, traumatic hospitalizations. Although graduate school had given me an intellectual understanding of healthcare systems, watching my grandmother suffer was a stark, haunting reminder of how broken elder care can be when continuity is lost. Her sudden passing left my family carrying painful "what-ifs." I often wonder if dependable, personalized support could have prevented those medical emergencies and given us more meaningful time together. Knowing countless families endure this same heartbreak daily ultimately reshaped my life’s direction. After a successful career in marketing technology leadership, I reached a turning point. While grateful for my corporate journey, I wanted my life’s work to do far more than optimize business metrics. I chose to step into senior homecare to solve the very problems that once left my own family feeling powerless. Today, as an owner of Hallmark Homecare in Houston, I help families regain control, consistency, and dignity. We operate on a client-directed direct-hire model that solves the turnover crisis at its root: matching families with highly vetted caregivers who bring at least five years of experience, while ensuring caregivers earn competitive wages that foster long-term loyalty and genuine connection. I am not in this for recognition; this mission is rooted in personal conviction. If I can spare even one family the trauma of inconsistent care and deliver the safety, continuity, and peace of mind we so desperately needed for my grandmother, my purpose is fulfilled.
