Karen began her career in non-clinical healthcare leadership roles in West Texas. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas Permian Basin, she spent 25+ years in leadership roles for short term acute care hospitals, a rehab hospital, and large physician practices. Karen also served as a healthcare revenue cycle consultant for 2 years and then 7 years as a Vice President in client relations. Prior to starting her Assisted Living Locators business, she served as the Business Director for a retirement community with independent living, assisted living, and memory care accommodations. From 1986 to 1994, Karen cared for her grandparents and her mom as they aged and became unable to care for themselves. She also walked the journey thru her mother-in-law’s and sister-in-law’s dementia several years later. Those experiences as well as her employment at the senior community served as the catalyst for her desire to work with seniors and their families to assist them in finding the right fit in senior living. She is adept at knowing what questions to ask and in gathering all the necessary information, focusing carefully on her clients’ needs and lifestyle, and following up to ensure that every detail is resolved to their satisfaction. She and her husband, Kenny, live in Burleson, Texas, and enjoy the company of their twin grandsons. They serve together in their church’s Hospitality ministry.
